BNG For Landowners

We have been supporting landowners in accessing funding and delivering ambitious habitat creation & restoration schemes for over 15 years. Our position within the sector makes us unique, in that we can unlock and blend together charitable, public and private sector funding opportunities in order to bring schemes to fruition, whilst ensuring a fair deal for the landowner. Our BNG services include:

Baseline BNG assessments & scenario forecasting to understand the potential BNG uplift available on your holding
Easy access to the BNG marketplace through our trusted and competitive Biodiversity+ brokering service.
End-to-end support with the design, implementation and management of habitat offset schemes.

BNG For Developers

We work with a range of organisations and businesses with development needs, supporting them on their BNG journey through the provision of all or part of the following scope of services:

Baseline habitat appraisals

Our team includes national botanical experts, enabling us to offer detailed, high quality vegetation surveys to the following recognised methodologies

River and water course appraisals

We are industry leaders in freshwater conservation, with specialisms in river restoration, fisheries and water quality. As such, we offer a range of bespoke, in-channel surveys to help our clients understand the overall health of a watercourse including priority species assessment, invasive species surveys and water quality sampling.

Electrofishing

Electrofishing provides a highly effective means of gathering fish population survey data in a range of freshwater environments. Our fishery leads have a deep-rooted knowledge of fish ecology and population dynamics and are experienced operators of our specialist electrofishing equipment. This positions us to offer a range of e-fishing services, from quantitative presence/absence surveys to detailed qualitative population assessments and catch-deletion surveys.

Drone surveys

From wildlife identification surveys to course habitat surveys to detailed topographical assessments, our application of drones is ever evolving. Our experienced, in-house drone pilot is always looking for the next flight challenge and would be happy to discuss your drone related requirements.

Farm & land management advice

We support 100’s of farmers and landowners every year in exploring farm system changes and access funding for environmental diversification.

Farm water audits

Our tried and tested farm water audits have been refined over the years, working in collaboration with farm groups, individual landowners and private estates, all with varying land management interests. They provide a detailed whole farm assessment of the freshwater environment, identifying risks and outlining opportunties for enhancement based on our extensive real world experience of implementing nature-based solutions.

Farm nature investment audits

Our farm audits are a one-stop shop for landowners & land managers seeking to understand the ecological potential of their farm holding and the viability of associated revenue streams available to them to support ecological diversification. Our farm nature investment audits comprise the following three components;

Baseline farm habitat survey
Habitat creation/restoration appraisal and mapping
Financial appraisal considering the full scope of funding opportunties available, from charitable, statutory and private sources.

Agri-environment support and access to environmental grants

Our team provide support services for clients seeking to pursue applications for government funded Environmental Land Management schemes, including Sustainable Farming Incentive and Countryside Stewardship.

Woodland and Carbon

We can aid businesses aiming to offset carbon and improve green credentials with our woodland sponsorship schemes.

Achieving net zero is a global challenge. Solutions are available and small steps, taken collectively, can have profound impacts.

Offsetting emissions through the creation of new habitat, is one of the means by which we can take action. Our Severn Woodlands sponsorship scheme is intended to make that possible for businesses, individuals and local groups.

The concept is simple, for a set fee (£/ha), we will support you in creating new, native woodlands here in the Severn catchment. We will take care of everything, from site identification, to ground preparation, to planting and long-term maintenance, ensuring all of our new woodlands prosper.

Woodlands Sponsors will be invited to get involved and join the fun, should they wish, through a site visit and woodland planting day for individuals and company employees.
